maxon motor meets environmental standard
Drive systems for today and tomorrow
maxon motor achieved certification under the ISO 14001 environmental standard on June 22nd 2006, a milestone which ensures that environmental protection is systematically embedded in the company's management process. The environmental aspect is an integral part of all daily tasks and the company's policy: employees are conscious of their responsibility towards future generations and committed to deal sparingly with resources. Environment - fundament of our existence
In line with the SN EN ISO 14001:2004 certification, maxon motor has implemented measures to protect air, land and water, the use of energy and raw materials on a sustainable basis. ISO 14001 is an internationally adopted quality standard for environmental management systems (EMS), stipulating environmentally relevant procedures and processes within a company. The management and employees are engaged to perform environmentally compatible behaviour and an ongoing improvement of processes and documentation. maxon motor constantly promote environmental awareness among their employees. Periodical internal audits review and evaluate the company's environmental management system in order to identify opportunities for improvements and their implementation. The impact on people and environment in the production of drive systems, ceramic and metallic injection moulded parts is minimised. maxon motor maintain close cooperation with environmental authorities, enabling proactive measures to legal changes and the prompt incorporation of future requirements into their environmental policy. To clarify the needs of stakeholder groups and review the company's own environmental behaviour, maxon motor maintain the dialogue with local municipalities, neighbours, customers, market partners, media representatives and scientists - and not least with their own employees.
Medical technology represents another challenge
maxon motor is continuously expanding its environmental and quality management systems, including the drive market for medical equipment. The medical market requires precision motors to be fully reliable, faultless and produced on an environmentally compatible basis. The company is constantly enhancing its quality management system, aiming to achieve certification under medical standard ISO 13485 in 2008.
